DEX Screener Golden Ticker: Paid Visibility Is Not Token Verification

A gold ticker on DEX Screener means 500 or more paid boosts are active. It says something about marketing spend, nothing about contract safety.

Short answer

DEX Screener's Golden Ticker is unlocked when 500 or more Boosts are active on a token and lasts while that remains true. Boosts are paid, non-refundable, last 12 to 24 hours depending on the pack, and multiply a token's existing Trending Score. They are not a verification: DEX Screener says boosts may be removed if a token is flagged as malicious, which means a token can carry boosts before any flag. Run the same checks on a gold-ticker token as on any other.

What boosts can tell you

Boosts do carry information, just not about safety. Heavy boosting shows that someone is spending to attract attention. Combined with growing unique makers and liquidity, it may reflect an active community; combined with flat participation, it may be an attempt to manufacture interest.

Because boosts are time-limited (12 to 24 hours per pack), watch what happens after they expire. If activity falls back immediately, attention was bought rather than earned.

Record boost counts alongside your other observations rather than treating them as a separate signal.

Example: badge without participation

Illustrative: a token holds a Golden Ticker for a day with 520 active boosts. Its unique makers over that day are 90, its liquidity is $25,000 and its top wallet holds 40% of supply. The badge shows money spent on visibility. The other numbers show a thin market controlled by a few wallets, which is the information that matters for risk.

Practice

Treat boosts as information about marketing intensity. A heavily boosted token with few unique makers is a warning sign rather than reassurance. See DEX Screener Boosts vs Organic Activity: What the Badge Means and DEX Screener Trending Is Not a Safety Check: What to Verify.

A Golden Ticker measures paid boosts, not safety; apply full due diligence anyway.

DEX Screener behaviour comes from its official documentation (token listing, trending, boosting and API reference) as read on 17 October 2026. Interface labels may differ slightly from API field names. Examples use illustrative numbers and no real token is implied.
