Multi-Venue Options Aggregation in Crypto: How to Read the Data With Price Context
Aggregating options data across venues gives a fuller picture of positioning, if units, expiries and strikes are aligned first.
Short answer
Options trade on several venues with different contract sizes, expiry times and strike grids. Before summing open interest or computing exposure across venues, convert OI to the same unit (coins of the underlying), align expiries by settlement time, and map strikes. Venues may also use different index prices and mark IV methods. Read aggregated numbers with each venue's share shown, so one venue's positioning isn't mistaken for the market's.
