Long-Short Account Ratios in Crypto: How to Read the Data With Price Context
The account ratio counts traders, not money. In price context it shows how the crowd leans as price moves.
Short answer
The long/short account ratio is the share of accounts net long divided by the share net short; Binance publishes a global version and a top-trader version (top 20% by margin), each counting accounts once, and keeps 30 days of history. In price context: a rising account ratio during a decline shows the crowd buying the dip; a falling ratio during a rally shows the crowd fading it. Extremes are context for crowding, not timing signals, and describe one venue's users.
