Coinigy Price and Volume Alerts: Setup, Timing and Verification

An alert is useful only if it fires on the right market, at the right moment, and reaches you. Test all three before relying on it.

Short answer

Set Coinigy price and volume alerts on the exact exchange and pair you trade, choose a condition that matches your plan (a touch or a sustained break), and verify delivery by triggering a test alert near the current price and checking the arrival time against the chart. Coinigy describes real-time price and volume alerts as part of its boards. Record what each alert means and what you will do when it fires.

Timing and verification

Every alert path has delay: the platform must see the price, evaluate the rule and deliver the message. Measure it.

Designing alerts that survive volatility

Price alerts placed exactly at round numbers trigger on every wick in volatile markets. Place them slightly beyond the level by an amount reflecting normal noise, or pair them with a confirmation rule in your plan, such as checking the next close before acting.

Volume alerts need recalibration as markets change. A threshold that marked unusual activity in a quiet month may fire constantly in a busy one. Base thresholds on recent typical volume and review them monthly.

Keep the number of active alerts small. Ten precise alerts with written actions are more useful than fifty that blur into noise. When an alert fires and you take no action, ask whether it should exist.

Keep alerts meaningful

Review alerts weekly: delete those for levels no longer relevant and adjust volume thresholds after volatility shifts. For comparison with bar-close logic, see TradingView Crypto Price Alerts: Crossing vs Once-per-Bar Close and ChartsPod Alerts: Bar Close vs Intrabar Triggering.

When an alert fires, check order flow and derivatives at that level.
