Options Taker-Premium Flows in Crypto: How to Read the Data With Price Context

Options flow summed by taker direction and premium paid shows which side was aggressive in dollar terms. It's closer to intent than raw volume.

Short answer

Taker-premium flow sums premium paid by aggressive buyers minus premium received from aggressive sellers, often split into calls and puts. Deribit trades report the taker's direction and price, so premium = price × amount (converted to USD with the index price at the trade). Read it with price and IV: aggressive call buying while IV rises suggests upside demand; aggressive put selling suggests income or confidence. Separate blocks and multi-leg trades.
