DEX Screener Token-Pool Data: History Limits - Avoid Silent Gaps
DEX Screener's token-pools data is a snapshot of current pools. Pools that disappeared, and how pool lists looked last week, aren't available unless you stored them.
Short answer
The token-pairs endpoint returns the pools currently found for a token, with pairCreatedAt (nullable) but no history of liquidity or of pools that no longer qualify. A pool list built today can't tell you which pool was main last month. Store snapshots with retrieval times, keep removed pools as 'last seen' records, and log failed polls so a missing day is visible rather than looking like 'no change'.
Documented limits
| Limit | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| History | Not provided | Store snapshots |
| Rate limit | 60/min (several endpoints) | Polling budget |
| pairCreatedAt | Nullable | Pool age unknown sometimes |
| Removed pools | Not signalled | Absent later |

Open the ChartsPod terminalWhere silent gaps come from
- Polls that failed but weren't logged
- Pools dropping out without a 'last seen' record
- Liquidity values carried forward
- Rate-limit errors treated as empty results
Example
Illustrative: a migration appeared to happen in one night; the unlogged failed poll hid that pool C appeared on day 2.

Sources and methodology
Limits come from DEX Screener's API reference, CoinGecko's onchain API documentation and Binance's Spot API documentation, read 17 October 2026. Where a limit isn't documented, this guide says so. Examples are illustrative.
