DEX Screener Boost Data: Event Time vs Retrieval Time

Boosts last for a limited time, but the boost endpoints' schema isn't reproduced in the reference reviewed. Dating boosts relies on your own polling.

Short answer

DEX Screener boosts last 12–24 hours and are non-refundable. The token-boosts endpoints (latest and top) exist in the API reference, but their schema wasn't shown in the material reviewed, so don't assume a boost start or end timestamp is provided. Poll at a fixed interval, store retrieved_at with each boost record, and estimate start and expiry from when a boost appears and disappears. Note the ads endpoint does carry a date and durationHours.

Illustrative: a boost appears at 08:00 and disappears by the next day's 08:00 poll — consistent with a 24-hour boost. Volume during that window can then be compared with the day before.

Sources and methodology

Field definitions come from DEX Screener's API reference and CoinGecko's onchain API documentation, read 17 October 2026. Where a schema doesn't document a timestamp, this guide says so and recommends recording retrieval time yourself.

  1. DEX Screener API reference — documented schemas: pairCreatedAt nullable; no updatedAt or retrieval-time field; 60 requests/min on several endpoints.
  2. DEX Screener: Boosting — paid visibility, not an endorsement.
