ChartsPod Screener Universe Filters: Settings to Check Before Your First Analysis
Before any condition runs, the universe decides which symbols are even considered. A screen is only as fair as its universe.
Short answer
ChartsPod's screener builds nested conditions over markets on its venues. The universe filter comes first: which venues, spot or perpetual, quote asset, minimum volume or listing age. A universe that includes thin or newly listed markets fills results with symbols whose indicators have short histories; one that is too narrow hides opportunities. Fix the universe, note its size, and keep it constant when comparing screens over time.
What it shows
ChartsPod's public pages list this tool.
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Venue | Binance, Bybit, OKX, Hyperliquid |
| Market type | Spot / perpetual |
| Quote asset | e.g. USDT |
| Liquidity floor | Minimum volume |
Settings to check first
Common first-session mistakes:
- Mixing spot and perp of the same coin
- No volume floor
- Changing the universe between runs
Worked example
Illustrative: an RSI screen over all 900 markets returns 60 hits, many from week-old listings. With a volume floor and 90-day listing age, it returns 9.
