ChartsPod Footprint Dominance View: Settings to Check Before Your First Analysis
A dominance view colours each footprint row by which side traded more there. It summarises bid×ask quickly and hides how close the contest was.
Short answer
A dominance-style footprint colours or labels each price row by whichever side dominated (more volume on the ask = buyers, on the bid = sellers), often with intensity by the share of the dominant side. Before relying on it, check the threshold used to call a side dominant, whether totals are visible, the row size and the venue. A row with 51% vs 49% and one with 90% vs 10% can look similar if the threshold is low.
What it shows
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Row colour | Dominant side |
| Intensity | Dominant share (if shown) |
| Threshold | Share needed to call dominance |
| Totals | Often hidden; check |

Worked example
Illustrative: three rows all coloured 'buyers'. Row A: 51 vs 49 BTC; row C: 45 vs 5 BTC. Only row C is a strong buying row. Showing totals or using a higher threshold separates them.
