ChartsPod Backtest Cost Settings: Settings to Check Before Your First Analysis
ChartsPod lists strategies and backtests. Cost settings — fees, slippage, funding — often decide whether a strategy is profitable at all.
Short answer
Before running a backtest, check the fee rate (maker vs taker, per side), slippage model (fixed ticks or percentage), whether funding is applied to perpetual positions, and whether costs apply to both entry and exit. Compute the strategy's break-even cost — the gross average per trade — and compare it with your settings. Use your actual fee tier and measured slippage, not defaults.
